Gretchen Sproehnle

Gretchen Sproehnle’s deep-rooted love of Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains began at an early age. She was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and at age 5, her family moved to Incline Village, Nevada, where she attended school from Kindergarten through high school. She was active in many competitive sports including skiing and tennis, and ski raced at the regional and national level through college. As a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, Sproehnle has spent virtually all of her life in the mountains. She was drawn back to North Lake Tahoe after college, where she began a career in graphic design and marketing. Shortly after, she and her husband Rob, a lifelong resident of Squaw Valley and another ski racer, married and started their family. Together with her husband as a builder, Sproehnle is a partner in the couple’s general contracting business, where she has gained years of experience in construction. She leverages this background, as well as her connections in the trades, to offer additional value to her clients. Her extensive knowledge of the unique neighborhoods and communities of the area, plus her marketing prowess and practical understanding of new home construction and remodeling are an effective blend in connecting buyers and sellers in the Tahoe/Truckee market. She is licensed in both California and Nevada. Sproehnle is passionate about education and has volunteered countless hours at local schools and is past president of the Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation. Her daughters attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and the University of Oregon. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Sproehnle has sailed extensively on Tahoe and in the Bay Area, has coached skiing and soccer, and enjoys hiking with the family’s four-legged sidekick Goose, as well as skiing, cooking, and curling up with a good crossword puzzle.
